Rockstar to release remastered versions for GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas this fall
While fans of the GTA series are waiting for the new part, Rockstar continues to announce remasters of its previous games. So, in the fall, the updated GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas will be released in a single edition. They are being developed by Rockstar's Dundee division, responsible for the second and third installments of the third-person shooter Crackdown, and who worked on Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
All games will receive an updated graphics engine, the Unreal Engine, which will improve the visual component. The overall look of the user interface will remain largely unchanged, however the gameplay will receive some improvements. The final stage of development is now underway, with release scheduled for October-November this year. Distribution will be exclusively digital for the previous and current generation XBOX and PS consoles, as well as for the Nintendo Switch console and the Stadia cloud service. Owners of mobile devices will have to wait for the release of remasters in 2022.
However, Rockstar is considering releasing an updated version of Red Dead Redemption, the final decision will be made after evaluating the sales of the aforementioned GTA compilation.
