Smartphones with sub-screen cameras are now no surprise, but the lens hiding technology is still damp and needs to be improved. Many brands in the lineup have devices with such a camera, and Vivo is working on a similar model that will have an elegant solution for module placement.
The manufacturer is going to place the camera under the charge indicator icon. This will mask the lens and get a flaw-free screen. If the user turns the smartphone over to a horizontal position, then another icon will appear in place of the charge icon. When the camera is activated, the need for camouflage will disappear, and the sensor will be able to collect the normal amount of light rays to take a photo.
While this idea of camera placement is a good thing in itself, it's not clear if it will come to fruition. Probably, the manufacturer will try to implement the idea in the new NEX 4 smartphone, coming out in 2022.
