The free version of the OS got the Community Edition prefix in its name. The company's representatives say that its release will give an impetus to the further development of the ecosystem. The underlying principles for operating systems are secure by design principles that enable the development of hacker-proof solutions.

KasperskyOS, according to the creators, was developed from scratch. It is suitable for areas with strict requirements for the protection of confidential data. The free distribution is aimed at non-commercial use. Nevertheless, developers will be able to transfer their applications and software to the full version of the OS, which will be distributed for a fee.

To download the assembly, the user must fill out a questionnaire indicating the full name, e-mail, phone number and city of residence. The firm will need this data to improve its understanding of the audience. At the moment, the OS is only compatible with 1-board microcomputers Raspberry Pi 4, but in the future, the list of supported platforms is planned to replenish.
