Google senior vice president Hiroshi Lockheimer took a very sudden tweet to criticize Apple. The functionary made accusations against competitors, because he believes that the Cupertinians are deliberately encouraging young people to switch to "apple" products through their proprietary messenger iMessage.
In his post, Lockheimer says that Apple does not want to introduce the Rich Communication Services (RCS) communication standard into its proprietary messenger. He also believes that competitors are deliberately provoking the owners of devices on the Android platform to ridicule. For example, in a recently published article by The Wall Street Journal, it is said that most of the American schoolchildren and students have iPhones. It also states that this category of users laughs at their peers who use instant messengers on devices with an operating system from Google.
In the correspondence between Android and iOS users, the messages of the first are highlighted with a green bubble, not blue, as on Apple devices. In addition, such users cannot send images and QR codes. In this regard, Lockheimer believes that Apple deliberately does not accept the RCS standard used by all other manufacturers in order for Android owners to switch to iOS.
Lockheimer is confident that such a decision is a pure marketing ploy, since it is not technically difficult to implement the RCS standard. Apple has not yet commented on the allegations.
