The head of YouTube spoke about the implementation of NFT and the counter of dislikes
Leading video hosting CEO Susan Wojcicki shared her vision for the platform in her open letter.

So, the head said that YouTube in the future may use non-fungible NFT tokens as a new means of earning money for content creators. It is emphasized that improving the hosting ecosystem will bring more benefits for both content makers and subscribers.

Right now, YouTube is only considering enabling NFT, but some video creators have already begun converting their popular videos into non-fungible tokens. The example video below was auctioned for $761,000:

The above example is not isolated. So, a video called David After Dentist, where a boy under the influence of anesthesia behaves very unusually, was also converted into NFT and sold for eleven thousand dollars.

It is worth noting that other social networks also use NFTs. For example, on Twitter, you can now put NFT pictures on your account profile picture.

Wojcicki did not bypass the topic of turning off dislikes under the video. It is noted that for many users this decision has become very controversial. It is also said that a high number of displayed dislikes signaled that the video did not deserve the attention of the viewer. In addition, disabling dislikes reduced the number of attacks by haters on the authors of video content, which did not always reflect the quality of a particular video.

Months of testing before deactivating the dislike counter were conducted using millions of videos. During testing, no correlation was noted regarding views with the counter turned on and off.

Currently, a content creator in a personal account can track the number of dislikes. Viewers are also not deprived of the opportunity to put a “thumbs down” under any video.
