Ubisoft will close its free-to-play Battle Royale Hyper Scape in April. The end of the project and the shutdown of servers will take place less than two years after the start - the game became available in July 2020.
The company said in a statement that the full liquidation of Hyper Scape will occur on April 28. Ubisoft also expressed gratitude to the gaming community and assured that they would take into account the development experience in their new projects.
Hyper Scape is a multiplayer action game with Twitch integration and f2p access. The release of the game was promising, but at the start it received a fair share of criticism. After that, in October 2020, Ubisoft announced a number of major updates that were supposed to improve the gameplay. Apparently, this was not enough, and as a result, without announcing specific reasons, the developer announced the closure of the project.
