Apple is testing the updated principle of subscriptions. Not all users will like it
News portal TechCrunch reports that Apple has begun working on an updated subscription model for its devices. However, at the end of March, subscribers of the Disney+ streaming platform began receiving subscription rate increase alerts with revised wording.

According to the updated policy, streaming subscription holders must either manually activate the new price tag action, or simply ignore the alert. Under the old rules, the subscription was suspended at the end of the validity period. However, under the new terms, which are currently being tested, inaction will be considered as acceptance of the updated pricing policy (including on Disney+). In simple words, if you ignore the notification, the subscription will be automatically renewed with money debited at the new cost.

TechCrunch has reached out to Apple to clarify why Disney+ streaming has moved to a different standard than other iOS apps. Apple explained that auto-subscription with a new higher cost is one of the features being tested as part of the TestFlight program. Apple did not share a list of companies participating in this program, as well as other details, but assured that all important information would become known in the near future.
