The telescope will operate in the range from 50 MHz to 25 GHz. In other words, its wave range is from several centimeters to several meters. The combined radio array, developed since 1991, should fundamentally change radio astronomy. With the help of this project, humanity will be able to study the history of the early universe and get a fresh idea about the formation of new stars during the period of reionization. In addition, the project will allow for research into the essence of dark energy and its potential impact on cosmic expansion. The main task of the telescope should be to trace the history of the appearance and distribution of hydrogen, the main element present on planet Earth.

The effective area of the telescope, which will be able to receive radio signals from outer space, will be equal to hundreds of thousands of square meters. This will make the object the largest in the world. Now the Daocheng Solar Telescope, located in China, has the largest diameter of three kilometers.
