The creator of Linux OS Linus Torvalds nevertheless announced the release of version 6.1 of the system. It is noted that 15115 fixes from more than two thousand developers have been made in it.

The new version of Linux received 716247 new lines of code, while 304560 lines were removed. About 45% of the changes are related to device drivers. The main changes in the OS are as follows:

• the emergence of support for the development of drivers and modules in the RUST language, thanks to which the work of programmers is simplified, and the risk of making a mistake is minimized;
• improvement of the mechanism for determining the used memory pages;
• the emergence of a system for diagnosing problems with memory KMSAN;
• introduction of the KCFI protection mechanism;
• appearance of the Maple Tree structure.
