Gamers breathed a sigh of relief: an annoying service was removed from Resident Evil 5 once and for all
Studio Capcom has pleased fans of the fifth part of Resident Evil with a new patch. The update for the Steam version of the game removed the Games for Windows Live service that was infuriating everyone.

Gamers breathed a sigh of relief: an annoying service was removed from Resident Evil 5 once and for all

The action-horror game has been linked to Games for Windows Live since its release on Steam. Through this service, activation and other processes necessary for a full-fledged game were carried out. After the closure of the service in 2014, players could hardly enter the game, for which they had to look for the necessary information on third-party resources, for example, on the PCGamingWiki website and other similar portals. Now gamers can breathe easy and enjoy the game without any problems.

In addition to sending the hateful Games for Windows Live to the trash, the developers have added a useful feature to the update. It consists in the possibility of passing the game in local co-op mode with a split screen. Previously, this feature was only available to owners of publications on consoles. Also, the game will now support widescreen monitors. Finally, players will be able to disable the gameplay mechanics of the Quick Time Event in the settings.
