Netflix's failed attempt at a Resident Evil adaptation (the series was canceled after season 1) doesn't stop film studios from wanting to bring any part of the gaming franchise to the blue screen. This time Sony will try to succeed.
Online sources are reporting that Sony has greenlit a Resident Evil 4 film adaptation. The film will focus on the story of Leon Kennedy, as it did in the original action horror. It is not yet clear how close the film adaptation will be to the plot of the title. Also, at least the approximate release date of the tape is unknown.
The original Resident Evil 4 game was released back in 2005 and received wide recognition from players and critics. The project also influenced the genres of 3-person action and survival horror. This year, the game will receive a remake, which will be released on March 24 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S platforms.
