The developers of Atomic Heart talked about the process of creating Twins

The popularity of the main mascots of the project surprised the authors.

Before creating the Twins, the creators came up with Academician Sechenov. For such a character it was necessary to come up with serious security. Since Sechenov does not trust people, it was decided to make robots as security guards. The security had to be strong, but not intimidating, so the idea of a female guard appeared. Until the final version, the design of the Twins was subject to changes, every detail and every element was worked out. In total, eight months were spent creating Sechenov’s guards. Design concepts are shown in the images.




In addition, Mundfish revealed what inspired the Twins' fighting style. Contrary to popular belief, it was not ballet that was used for this, but rhythmic gymnastics. But there were still elements of ballet. The developers especially liked the discipline with the tape, so the guards were given weapons in the form of whips. The studio notes that Twins became popular immediately after the release of the first trailer, which was surprising.
