The Japanese company may try its luck with the release of a new version of the portable console, which at one time did not become a real hit.
YouTube blogger Moore's Law Is Dead reports that Sony has started the process of creating the PS Vita 2 portable game console. According to him, the device is at the initial stage of production. The device should receive a hybrid APU chip from AMD with eighteen computing cores with a frequency of ~1.8 GHz. The source also states that the console will have its own library of games and will be able to run titles from PS4 and PS5. If released, the PS Vita 2 will join the PlayStation 6 lineup.
The first Vita was released in 2011. The device received advanced hardware, but this did not help it become as popular as the PSP. In addition, sales did not suit Sony. In 2015, active support for the console virtually ceased, but indie studios eagerly ported their new and relatively old games to the console.
