Most employees want to remain remote.

Rockstar recently sent an email to all employees demanding that they return to work in the office starting in April. This did not please the IWGB gaming workers' union, which includes members of the development team.

Company employees reacted negatively to this news. In a statement, the IWGB said that most of the workers are accustomed to working from home and have adjusted their daily lives to this format: some are caring for relatives, and some are experiencing health problems themselves. Some team members even moved to a new, more comfortable place to live, located at a considerable distance from the studio’s main office.

Management's demand will force workers to again radically change their lifestyle, not for the better. There is a month left until April, after which Rockstar, for security reasons, will be forced to disable the technological equipment for remote development of GTA 6. Thus, employees who worked remotely will lose access to the tools and may be fired.

GTA 6 is due out in 2025 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
