The standard application will finally be added to iPadOS after 14 years of being ignored.
According to the Apple Insider resource, with the release of iOS 18, the calculator application will receive a number of new features. For example, note-taking and currency conversion will be available in the utility. In addition, the calculator will be added to iPadOS 18. The calculator application in macOS will also have an updated design, and the calculation history will be saved for all available modes (normal, programmable and scientific).
The original Calculator for iPhone was created by Steve Jobs himself. He created this program for Macintosh back in 1981 using a specially designed designer. Later, when testing a version of the calculator on the iPad, Jobs decided to remove it from the tablet’s operating system, since the proprietary iPadOS firmware was only an extended version of the firmware for the iPhone. Developers haven't even thought about adding a calculator to the iPad since then, but that's about to change.
