Satellite Internet from Elon Musk Starlink will work not only through satellites in orbit, but also through ground stations. A proposal to host a similar facility on the Isle of Man was sent by SpaceX representatives to the UK regulator.
As an argument, SpaceX cites the need to improve broadband coverage of suburban areas where fiber optic cables and 5G are absent. In total, it is planned to place three such facilities on the British Isles - Buckinghamshire, Cornwall and the Isle of Man. This approach is planned to help ensure Internet access throughout the UK. Perhaps a similar hybrid Starlink scheme will be implemented in other countries.
