BAE Systems and Malloy Aeronautics presented a cargo drone project. The T-650 quadcopter will be able to reach speeds of up to 140 km / h and will receive a carrying capacity of 300 kg.
The drone will have a lightweight construction made of durable carbon fiber with a folding propeller assembly. The prototype will be assembled in the second half of 2022, after which flight tests will take place.
It is planned that the drone will be used for military purposes. So, it can be used to move cargo between ships, as well as in hot spots to support ground forces.
The developers also have plans for the civilian operation of the drone. The quadcopter can be used to deliver goods and improve logistics. It is also likely that a drone will be used to evacuate people from areas affected by man-made disasters or natural disasters.
