IKEA has unveiled the Sjömärke wireless charger that can be integrated into almost any table or shelf.
Previously, IKEA has already produced interior items with similar functionality. In particular, two years ago, the company, in collaboration with Xiaomi, introduced a table that supports 20W wireless charging. Now the company has expanded the list of products to improve old furniture.
The Sjömärke device can be hidden under the table top or bedside table. It is fastened with self-tapping screws or tape on non-metallic surfaces with a thickness of 8-22 mm.
The 5W gadget is compatible with the Qi 1.2.4 protocol. It has a charge indicator with LED, temperature and power tracking mechanism for safe operation. The package includes a 2-meter cable and a transparent sticker indicating the area where the smartphone is located above the charger.
The device will be available in October for $40.
