One of the most common tests for Covid-19 is produced by Ellume. With it, you can take a swab from the nasal cavity, then the device analyzes and sends the result to the user's phone via Bluetooth. Recently it was revealed that the test results can be faked.
The vulnerability was discovered by an employee of the F-Secure organization, Ken Gannon. He was able to write scripts that make it possible to change the test result and send this data to the attending physician.
Later, Ellume announced the elimination of the vulnerability. Nevertheless, this case raises concerns, since possible intervention in such systems could adversely affect the consequences of the epidemiological situation in the world.
