Microsoft advises Windows users to turn off their computers less frequently

For stable updates, developers advise users to leave the PC on as long as possible. It is noted that the computer should be connected to the Internet for at least 2 consecutive hours, as this provides a guarantee of connection to the Windows Update servers. During the release of major updates, this “window” should be extended to 8 hours.

According to the developers, in order to avoid problems with downloading updates, it is worth changing the computer's power settings. So, corporate users should switch to the basic update plan, and home users should disable sleep and hibernation modes for a while. Such actions will allow you to easily download and install the latest patches for the OS.

According to Microsoft, about half of Windows 10 PCs do not meet the minimum requirements for online presence required by system services. It also notes that 25% of Windows devices are more than sixty days out of date. The company points out that the lack of regular updates reduces the risk of PC hacking.
