The specialist explained that when distributed through NFT, gamers are usually offered a token with, for example, super skills or weapons, where the virus is embedded.
Russian users suffered the greatest losses from fraudsters – in 2021, they accounted for 11.2% of the total number of attacks worldwide. The period with the highest activity fell on September-December last year, when 12.3% of fraud cases occurred. According to experts, Russian users own cryptocurrencies for a total of $214 billion. It is assumed that Russia came in first place in terms of the number of victims of criminals due to a weak level of technical and financial literacy.
