US approves first mobile app for injecting insulin
U.S. Regulator The Food and Drug Administration has given the go-ahead to use Tandem Diabetes Care's app to calculate insulin doses. It works in conjunction with a proprietary device t:slim X2.

Using the program, the user can independently dose the drug through a smartphone on iOS or Android. Previously, this could only be done on the insulin pump itself, which was not so convenient.

The functionality of the application will be available to new buyers of the pump, as well as customers who have a device with an unexpired warranty period. In order to manage the amount of insulin doses, you will need to update the software of the pump itself and the t:connect application, which at the moment only shows some parameters of the pump. The first update will be received by some of the company's customers, and in the summer the update will become available to other users.
