Google is developing an app archiver called archieved APK. The new option will make it possible to increase the permanent memory space used by unused programs by 60%. However, user data will be saved.
The archived APK feature will primarily help older devices with less than 64 GB of internal storage. Thanks to it, it will be possible to remove not the entire application at once, but some of its parts. This will create an archived APK file package that will also store the user's data.
The introduction of the function will help both the users themselves and the creators of applications. Instead of completely uninstalling the game or program, the owner of the device will be able to create an archive file, temporarily free up disk space and, if necessary, instantly restore the application to its previous form.
Now developers can already implement the function in their applications. Owners of Android devices will be able to use it at the end of the year.
