On March 21, CD Project RED announced a new game set in the Witcher universe. The developers shared a couple of details regarding the project, but many gamers misinterpreted the announcement, which is why the studio had to give a few comments.
The head of the CD Project PR department, Radek Grabowski, explained that the future game will not become The Witcher 4, but will act as the beginning of a new saga. In addition, the project will not be exclusive to any digital store, so fans do not have to worry that the release will be available exclusively on the site from Epic Games.
According to information from the press release and the CD Project website, the new Witcher will receive a new Unreal Engine 5 engine from Epic Games instead of REDengine. The studio did not share any information about the plot, development timeline and release date.
