The date of the appearance of the Russian analogue of Google Play became known
Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin ordered the creation of a Russian substitute for Google Play. This task was entrusted to the Ministry of Digital Development.
According to the text of the news posted on the portal of the Government of the Russian Federation, the order must be completed by June 1. Earlier, Mishustin said that foreign app markets (Google Play and the App Store) could allegedly impose restrictions on downloading software for users from Russia.
According to Interfax, citing Maksut Shadayev, head of the Ministry of Digital Development, the Russian app store will be developed based on the Android platform, since it is open and flexible. The agency may also consider creating a marketplace based on open source software.
According to rumors, Sberbank, Yandex and VK have already communicated with the government about the development of the Russian marketplace, but the companies have not yet commented on this information.
