Google has released a public build of Android 13 for the Pixel. The system received several new features that were not in previous versions of the operating system.

One of the significant innovations was the division of files into groups when granting permissions to programs. In previous builds of the OS, all files in the device's memory became available to applications, but now the user can grant access to certain categories of files. For example, it is possible to disable the player's ability to view pictures, since this function is not required for playing audio and video.

The player widget, which is displayed in the notification center and on the lock screen, received an animated playback bar in synchronization with the playing song.

In addition, 16 themes have appeared in the system, which are guided by the color palette of installed wallpapers. In turn, Android 12 has only four such themes.

Android 13 added the ability to control smart home gadgets directly from the lock screen - now you do not need to unlock the device. Also in the OS, editing the clipboard has become publicly available. Exclusive to the Pixel 6, the developers have added spatial audio settings.

The Android 13 beta build can already be tested by owners of the following pixel models: 4, 4XL, 4a, 4a 5G, 5, 5a, 6, 6 Pro. To get it "over the air" you need to register in the beta test program. You can also just download the finished image.
