The network has information about a previously unknown function of the upcoming OS. Judging by the code of the test version, we are talking about the possibility of dimming the wallpaper in low light conditions.
The name of the option says that the OS will be able to darken the desktop wallpaper by reducing the brightness of the backlight. At the same time, only the wallpaper itself will be darkened, while the icons and other elements will remain the same. In theory, the function will reduce eye strain in the dark or in poor lighting conditions. Previously, the ability to darken the wallpaper was found in a number of third-party shells, but the function was not fully implemented at the OS level.
According to the available information from insiders, the user will be able to independently configure the function or disable it altogether. All the details about this option and about Android 13 as a whole will be told by the developers themselves during the I/O conference.
