Elon Musk believes that the vast majority of Twitter users are bots

The businessman, who wanted to buy the social network, has suspended the promotion of the deal for now. The reason for the suspension, he called misleading information from the administration of Twitter, which claims incorrect statistics about fake accounts and bots.



For his part, Elon Musk believes that the number of bots and fake pages on the social network is over 90%. The businessman notes that only 2% of active users liked the most popular posts in the history of Twitter. The administration of the social network believes that fakes and bots occupy only 5% of the total user base, but the sample for creating this statistical base was only one hundred accounts.

It is not known when the recount of bots and fake pages will be made by the administration of the social network. It is quite possible that after this procedure it turns out that there are more such accounts than the Twitter administration would like. In this case, the company's shares may decrease in price, which will lead to a revision of the terms of the transaction in the direction of reducing the purchase price. At the moment, representatives of the social network have not commented on Elon Musk's statements.
