The probe received images of the Sun at an extremely close distance
The European Space Agency (ESA) has released videos of the Sun in 4K. The materials were received at the end of March by the Solar Orbiter probe.

The space probe took pictures at a distance of 0.32 astronomical units (4.79 * 107 km) from the star, while orbiting Mercury. During the shooting, the thermal screen of the device showed heating up to +500 degrees.

The video recording was obtained using a UV thermal imager in the 17-nm wavelength range. This length is radiated by gas masses at a temperature of almost 1 million degrees, which is equal to the temperature of the solar corona. On the initial frames of the video, pronounced loops of rarefied hot gas are captured, then a place with smaller coronal loops is shown.

The next video shows a close-up of the star's north pole. Light areas look like this because of the closed lines of force emerging from the depths of the star. Blackouts determine magnetic fields, from which gaseous formations are able to go into outer space and generate solar wind streams.

In 2025, with the help of the gravity of Venus, the ship will have to gradually increase the angle of inclination of its own orbit, and then leave the plane of the solar system. After that, the instrumentation of the apparatus will make it possible to observe the poles of the Sun from above.
