A group of specialists from the famous MIT University worked on the creation of a unique chip. Among the features of the processor stand out the presence of AI and the possibility of upgrading.
The chip will allow you to upgrade any device in which it is installed. In the future, the processor will make it possible to change various sensors and auxiliary processors for newer and more technologically advanced ones. Thus, the need to replace the entire main gadget, whether it be a smartphone, smart watch or any other similar electronic device, will disappear.
Structurally, the processor consists of alternately arranged layers of sensitive and processing elements, as well as LEDs, due to which light is transmitted for data transmission. This technology has an advantage over classic modular microcircuits, where standard wiring is used to translate signals between layers. Such systems are almost impossible to break and rewire, so they are almost impossible to upgrade. The new processor has the ability to change the arrangement of layers and superimpose them on top of each other.
At the moment, developers are thinking about how this technology can be implemented in commercial devices so that the owner of the device can upgrade the processor.
