American scientists have developed a smart watch that can measure blood sugar levels
A team of experts from Kennesso State University (Georgia) has created a unique device that can measure blood glucose levels without piercing the skin with an accuracy of 90%.

The device was named GlucoCheck. Its appearance resembles the usual smart watch. For its operation, synchronization with a special mobile application is required. Soon, the developers plan to synchronize the gadget with Alexa voice assistant from Amazon.

To fix the volume of sugar in the blood, the device illuminates the skin by means of LED illumination, then the camera is fixed on the blood vessels. At the moment, the specialists intend to test their invention on various types of human physique, this will help increase the diversification of test data. As conceived by the creators of GlucoCheck, it should be effective when scanning blood vessels in people with dark skin, as well as those with tattoos.

The developers are already going to patent their invention. Nevertheless, competitors are not asleep: the company from the UK Rockley Photonics is already busy developing a similar technology, but this creation does not work on LED indicators, but through laser analysis. The advantage of this approach is the ability to measure hydration, lactation and blood pressure. Apple is cooperating with this company, so the likelihood of such sensors appearing in upcoming smartwatches from Cupertin is very high.
