The embargo on reviews of the new video card has been lifted, so a lot of game test results of the new product began to get into the network. So, the author of the Tech Crap YouTube channel decided to test the capabilities of the device to the maximum in 8K resolution. The total number of fps issued is impressive.
The test platform for testing the GeForce RTX 4090 was the Ryzen 9 7950X chip with sixteen cores, the ASUS ROG Maximus X670E Hero motherboard with 32 GB of DDR5-6200 RAM. The Samsung Neo QLED QN800B 8K TV with a screen diagonal of 65" was responsible for displaying the picture.
At the beginning of sales of the last generation of video cards, NVIDIA tried to promote 8K gaming, but at that time the idea did not find success. Now there is a new attempt. Judging by the results, it can be successful, as in Overwatch 2 on ultra settings, the platform with the new video card showed a whopping 520 fps even without DLSS machine learning-based anti-aliasing.
In the more demanding Forza Horizon 5, the platform averaged 76 frames per second, which looks good against the background of using 8K resolution. In the even more demanding Cyberpunk 2077 and Microsoft Flight Simulator, we managed to achieve 65 and 81 fps, but for this we had to use 3.0 technology at maximum graphics settings.
The vendor's new flagship graphics card is on average twice as fast as the previous generation GPU at 4K and 8K resolutions. Therefore, we can say that the GeForce RTX 4090 has a large margin of gaming performance.
