DDR5-6400 UDIMM/SODIMM is fifth generation RAM. Unlike the previous iteration of RAM, it is capable of reaching data transfer rates of 6400 Mbps. SK hynix managed to become not only a pioneer in the development of the boards themselves, as they successfully applied the Clock Driver technology. With the help of it, the stability of the operation of the boards at the maximum speed of the same 6400 Mbps is achieved. The principle of operation of CKD technology is to improve the quality of the clock signal.

In August, SK hynix announced that their 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB memory boards were successfully certified. In September, 8, 16 and 32 GB sticks for personal computers received the corresponding certificates. In the 1st half of 2023, mass production of both of the above options for RAM strips will start.

SK hynix notes that the manufacturing process will use a deep ultraviolet photolithography technology called Extreme Ultra-Violet. Using light in the extreme UV range, it will be possible to form a circuit based on a semiconductor. Current lithography technologies will not be able to achieve the required accuracy for the manufacture of 5th generation boards.
