The South Korean company presented a wide range of OLED TVs at CES 2023. The public was told about the main technical features, the operating system of the devices and the advantages of the proprietary flagship chip Alpha 9 Gen 6.
The main hardware of LG's flagship TVs is an OLED matrix, a high-performance processor and its own sound system that supports surround sound. When developing a new line, the creators placed the greatest emphasis on a processor capable of analyzing an image in real time using artificial intelligence algorithms to eliminate noise and optimize contrast and saturation. This technological solution was called AI Picture Pro.
AI Picture Pro technology, along with all of the above, is also able to recognize faces and other important objects in the frame. This is necessary for their best display without compromising image fidelity and displaying top-notch HDR quality. In addition, the Brightness Booster Max algorithm controls the brightness of the matrix pixel by pixel, which allows you to increase the parameter by up to 70% compared to solutions in previous generations of TVs.
AI Sound Pro technology is responsible for the work of sound in new TVs. With its help, virtual surround sound is played in 9.1.2 format through built-in acoustics. Plus, all the new products are able to work in conjunction with LG soundbars and give IMAX-level sound based on DTS:X, Dolby Atmos, WOW Orchestra technologies.
Representatives of LG also focused on the fact that the new items work on webOS firmware. Its start screen is designed specifically for content personalization. The operating system has instant media access cards and the AI Concierge service, which compiles collections of films and other video content based on past search queries and the history of the owner's activity.
The new TVs will also please gamers as they add gaming features. So, new items have a response of up to 0.1 ms, HDMI 2.1a connectors and the Game Optimizer utility, which allows you to instantly switch between image settings presets depending on the genre of games. The utility also gives access to AMD FreeSync Premium, NVIDIA G-SYNC and VRR settings.
Together with the flagship TVs, LG introduced the Lifestyle Screen products, created in collaboration with the premium brand from the Netherlands Moooi. These TVs are made in the form of luxurious interior items. For example, the Objet Collection Easel looks like an artist's easel. Other significant representatives of the series are panels with a transparent display, a flexible matrix, solid wood and fabric parts. The line also includes a model with an LG StandbyME battery, which can be carried around the house with a movable stand.
The dates of the start of sales and the cost of new TV will be announced in the near future.
