Initially, the animated film was supposed to be released worldwide on April 7th. But the Illumination studio decided to postpone the date by two days - now the film will be released on April 5th. For what reasons the creators wanted to move the premiere in this way is unknown. In the homeland of Super Mario Japan, the release of the cartoon has the same date - April 28.
Super Mario Bros. Movie boasts an eminent cast of voice actors. Chris Pratt will speak for the protagonist Mario. Charlie Day, Anya Taylor-Joy and Jack Black will provide their own voices for Luigi, Princess Peach and Bowser respectively. Directing duties are entrusted to Aaron Horvath and Michael Genelik (MAD, Teen Titans Go!). The cartoon will be produced by the permanent head of Illumination Chris Meledandri and Shigeru Miyamoto - an outstanding game designer, the "father" of the Mario franchise and other famous series for Nintendo consoles.
