The South Korean company will continue to partner with AMD on an integrated GPU for Exynos chipsets. Both upcoming flagships and cheaper devices will get these processors.
Samsung has issued a press release on the matter. It says that Exynos chips with GPUs from AMD will receive devices from the Galaxy lines with the letters A, F and M, as well as mid-budget tablets of the Galaxy Tab series.
According to Sungjun Lee, Executive Vice President of Processor Engineering at Samsung Electronics, the collaboration between AMD and Samsung has enabled a revolution in mobile graphics, including the introduction of ray tracing technology for mobile chipsets to the industry. The functionary also noted that companies will continue to improve technological solutions and add them to future products.
The collaboration between Samsung and AMD was first announced at the end of 2021, and already at the start of 2022, the Exynos 2200 processor with integrated Xclipse 920 graphics based on AMD RDNA 2 was released. The flagship Galaxy S22 was equipped with this chip. When exactly devices with fresh Exynos and top-end graphics from AMD will be released, it has not yet been specified.
