The disastrous Battlefield 2042 did not change Electronic Arts' plans to create the next part. A motley team of game makers will work on the game.
The head of the Battlefield franchise, Vince Zampella, said that the Criterion Games studio, which worked on four Need for Speed games, including Unbound and Rivals, and on the Burnout racing franchise, will take part in the creation of the new part. The studio also had a hand in Battlefield 2042.
Work on the future shooter has already started. The game is being developed by studios such as DICE, Ripple Effect and Ridgeline. Electronic Art promises that the title will “reinvent” the series.
