The actor played the role of Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The authors of the superhero action paid tribute to Chadwick Boseman, who became famous for his role as Black Panther. The actor passed away on August 28, 2020. So, a costume called Forever was added to the game, reminiscent of T'Challa's look. This costume can be unlocked at level 27.

In addition, the game contains another reference to the late actor: in the Midtown area, one of the streets is named after him. It also houses the embassy of Wakanda, a fictional state from the MCU and comic books. This isn't the first time Insomniac has paid tribute to Boseman. So, in the spin-off about Miles Morales, one of the streets was named after the actor. He was also mentioned in the end credits.
