Judging by the sketches, when folded the smartphone will have the shape of a square. At the same time, part of the display will be located inside. If necessary, the screen and part of the body can be pulled out, and the gadget will have the usual dimensions for regular iPhones.
Despite the fact that the patent concerns smartphones, Apple does not exclude the possibility of using similar screens in iPad, iMac, smart TVs and other devices. The traditional folding screen was patented earlier, and a roll-up smartphone patent was also filed. It is still unknown when gadgets with similar technologies will appear on the market.
