The Trojan is capable of stealing passwords and other personal data of users.

A virus program has appeared on the macOS operating system, masquerading as popular programs and games, including the note-taking service Notion and even the yet-to-be-released Grand Theft Auto 6. When installing the program, gullible users deliberately ignore macOS Gatekeeper security protection notifications because they come across familiar names . The malware then downloads onto your computer and begins stealing passwords and other personal information. Experts believe that the Trojan was developed by Russian hackers, since during the hacking process the virus accesses a site with an IP address from Russia.

Experts advise macOS users to be careful when downloading files (especially from untrusted sources), not to follow installation instructions to bypass the Gatekeeper security feature, beware of social engineering tactics where attackers use familiar game or app names to confuse them, and regularly check and update Software related to data privacy security.

The problem is described in more detail in the Moonlock portal article.
