The prequel to 2016's DOOM and DOOM Eternal were announced last week.
In the new game, id Software decided to return to the concept of the first classic two parts of the franchise: if the last games in the series assumed a vertical passage with platforming, then the upcoming game will become more “horizontal”, that is, it will not have multi-level locations.
DOOM: The Dark Ages will also offer players battles with huge crowds of demons and other evil spirits. Previously, developers were constrained by the limitations of technology, but now they have the resources to create huge locations and hordes of monsters. As for weapons, they will also become more destructive.
DOOM: The Dark Ages will be released in 2025 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series platforms.
