Rockstar Games veteran Laszlo Jones spoke about the participation of criminals in the development of the cult game. According to him, gang members helped the authors not only with the voice acting of law-abiding NPCs, but also with the script. Thus, gangsters assessed the remarks of virtual criminals and gave their recommendations regarding how gangsters actually communicate. As a result, gang members were given creative freedom to voice their characters.

In addition, Laszlo Jones said that Rockstar has repeatedly sought help in developing its projects from members of certain communities in order to create authentic voice acting or script elements. For example, when creating Red Dead Redemption 2, a team of writers went to Santa Fe (New Mexico) and other cities to record remarks from Native Americans and representatives of other communities.
