Steam has experienced a surge in players in the original Mafia trilogy. On August 26, the Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven remake had about 5,500 simultaneous online players, while last week this figure was less than a thousand gamers.
The sequel and triquel showed more modest results - about 2,300 and 2,500 players playing crime action games at the same time. However, this figure is several times higher than last week's results.
Mafia: The Old Country was announced at gamescom 2024. The title will be a prequel to the first Mafia, which tells the story of young Don Salieri, the antagonist of the same first Mafia, in Sicily. The release is scheduled for next year on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series.
