Battlefield to Get Reworked Destruction System and More

Authoritative insider Tom Henderson shared fresh details regarding the title. According to his information, the events of the game will take place in 2027-30. The opposing sides will be NATO forces and a private military company.

At release, the title will receive ten maps for multiplayer and 45 weapons, which is twice as many as in Battlefield 2042 at launch. Battles will take place not only on the island of Gibraltar, but also in the United States and other regions. An unnamed area in the tropics of America is also being prepared for the battle royal mode.

One of the features of the title will be a redesigned system of destruction of the environment. Perhaps the levolution system used in Battlefield 4 will return to the game. It is known that damage to objects will depend on the caliber of the weapons used. Such a system, in particular, was used in Rainbow Six Siege.

An improved movement system will also be added to the game. Thus, players will be able to pick up wounded comrades and carry them away from the epicenter of hostilities to safe places.

The authors are still thinking about the official name of the title. In gamer surveys, they suggested Battlefield and Battlefield 6.

Global testing of the new Battlefield will start early next year. According to Henderson, these will not be standard open or closed beta tests - the Community Test Environment, the test environment used to create Battlefield 4 and Battlefield 1, will be returned to the game.
