Fans are working on a GTA III port for the SEGA Dreamcast console
Rockstar wanted to make a port of the game for the console, but failed.

A team of GTA fans is working on a port of GTA 3 to SEGA Dreamcast. The development process has been going on for several years, the basis of the project is the PC version of the action game. Now the game produces a stable 30 frames per second at a normal screen resolution with most of the visual effects preserved. The build files are available on the GitHub portal.

Rockstar itself developed a port of GTA 3 to Dreamcast in the 90s. But technical and commercial limitations forced the studio to put the project on the shelf. As a result, the game was released in the early 2000s on PC, PlayStation 2 and Xbox. Later, it appeared on mobile devices.
