The game turned 20 on November 16.

To celebrate the anniversary of the cult first-person shooter, Valve released a major update that fixed bugs, added new commentary from the authors, and combined the original campaign with the first and second episodes. In addition, the game is still available on Steam for free.

Steam also launched a sale of all the games in the franchise, a celebratory website appeared on the Internet, and a YouTube channel released a lot of video materials dedicated to the game, ranging from demonstrations of old demos and a previously unreleased video for the E3 2002 event to a documentary.
