Steam Deck has fps limiting option to reduce battery drain
Valve developer Pierre-Loup Griffe has shared fresh details on the Steam Deck on his Twitter account.

Valve has previously said that 30 fps is the target for their pocket gaming PC. However, the developer of the company Pierre-Loup Griffe denied this information, stating that this figure is minimal. During testing, all games met the target, and some even surpassed it.

Earlier, Griffe told the Internet portal IGN that the team has not yet managed to find a game that could not launch on the Steam Deck. According to him, the team was faced with the task of launching all the game projects of the Steam library, and they managed to achieve it.

At the same time, Pierre-Loup said that the set-top box has an option to limit the number of frames per second. This function is designed to give the user more options for flexible performance tuning and autonomy of gadgets. It is assumed that the battery with different adjustments of parameters will allow the user to enjoy video games from 2 to 8 hours.

The Steam Deck is slated for release later this year in first wave countries. The start of wide sales in other regions will take place in 2022.
