On August 10, the long-awaited presentation of Xiaomi took place in China, where the company presented several of its new devices. The headliner of the event was the flagship smartphone Mix 4, the first device of the tech giant with a sub-screen camera labeled CUP (Camera Under Panel). Also, the gadget is the first phone in the Mi Mix line, released in 2018, except for the Mi Mix Fold with a folding display.
The main design feature of the device is a bezel-less screen and a sub-screen camera, similar to solutions in smartphones of other brands. The technology involves the use of specialized transparent materials in the place of the screen above the camera. Similarly, with devices from Oppo and ZTE, the pixel density in this area is at around 400 ppi. The camera itself has a resolution of 20 megapixels.
The display of the smartphone has a curved AMOLED matrix with a three-dimensional effect. The diagonal of the screen is 6.67 "with a resolution of 2400x1080 pixels. The maximum refresh rate here is 120 Hz, the panel has support for ten-bit color representation, Dolby Vision and HDR10 +. The display is protected by tempered Gorilla Glass Victus.
The heart of the flagship is the upgraded Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus chip with a 5nm process technology and a heat dissipation cooling system. As a result, the Mix 4 is the first serial device with an overclocked version of the 888 "dragon".
The main camera module looks similar to the solution for Mi 11 Ultra, but there is no auxiliary viewfinder screen. The main sensor is a 108 megapixel Samsung HMX, complemented by a 13 megapixel wide-angle lens with a viewing angle of one hundred twenty degrees and an 8 megapixel periscope module with OIS with five times optical and 50 times digital zoom.
The battery of the device has a capacity of 4500 mAh. It supports 120W charging, which can fully charge the device in 21 minutes in normal mode and in a quarter of an hour in accelerated mode. There is also support for a 50 W wireless charger, capable of charging a gadget in 45 or 28 minutes, depending on the selected mode.
Among other details, it is worth noting the ceramic body, support for ultra-wideband (UWB) technology, speakers with Harman Kardon stereo sound. The smartphone will be available in three colors - black, white and gray.
The cost of the younger model with 8 + 128 memory configuration is 4999 yuan, which is equivalent to 20634 hryvnia, or almost 57,000 rubles. Mix 4 pre-orders in China will start on August 11, and in five days the smartphone will arrive in retail stores. There is no information about the dates of the start of sales in Europe yet.
A little later, a photo of Xiaomi Mix 4 with the display turned on and off was posted on the network, which shows the very "invisibility" of the subscreen camera, as well as a comparison with the ZTE Axon 30 5G smartphone (in the second photo from the right):
