Activision has introduced a proprietary anti-cheat system to combat unscrupulous players called Ricochet for its Call of Duty shooter series.

The technology will function due to specialized drivers working at the OS kernel level, as well as machine learning algorithms that will monitor the behavior of gamers. In addition, a human resource will be used to identify cheaters, which will consist of specialists in identifying dishonest players.

At the moment, on the PC platform, Kernel drivers are becoming more widespread, defining the most elegant ways of cheating. However, Activision does not want to use them for fear of a violation of confidentiality, since this software can abuse the monitoring of the entire system as a whole, and not for individual manifestations of dishonest play. Activision guarantees that Ricochet will be turned on exclusively during the launch of the game and will only be able to monitor the processes related directly to the gameplay.

Ricochet was created by the company's internal team specifically for the CoD series. It will first be rolled out to Warzone with the upcoming Pacific update at the end of the year, and then added to Vanguard, which will be released on November 5 on PC and current console generations.
