Steam Deck Console Delayed For Two Months
Valve has decided to postpone the release of its handheld Steam Deck by two months. Initially, the first deliveries were planned for December, but interruptions with components interfered with the company's plans.

Valve notes that they had a plan that took into account the possibility of problems in the supply chain of components due to the difficult situation in the world. However, adding extra time did not help to avoid risks. Cooperation with several suppliers at once did not contribute to the solution.

As a result, shipments of consoles for pre-order users are postponed by one quarter. For those buyers who are placing orders at the moment, the estimated delivery time is still displayed "after Q2 2022".

Other companies are also experiencing problems with a shortage of components. In particular, this year, not everyone was able to purchase new generation game consoles and powerful NVIDIA 30-series video cards, and due to the lack of chips, not all new BMW cars received touch displays in the cabin. The crisis also affected Apple, which lost $6 billion due to supply disruptions.

In addition to the shortage of components, Valve is also faced with the task of establishing cooperation with developers. So, game designers will have to work on compatibility and make changes to their games so that they can be run without problems on the Steam Deck.
